The European Union is looking for highly qualified ICT professionals to join its civil service. Permanent official type of contract and the work based at Brussels (Belgium), Luxembourg (Luxembourg), Strasbourg (France). Successful candidates in tests are placed on a reserve list and shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview.

The European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) is organising an open competition to establish reserve lists for administrators (grade AD 7) in four ICT fields: 

  • ICT infrastructure
  • ICT project management
  • Clouds and networks
  • Data science

Candidates may apply for one field only.

Key deadlines:

Application period runs from 6 May 2026 to 10 June 2026 (12.00 midday Brussels time).

Check your Eligibility:

  • EU citizenship
  • Requirement of at least two official EU Languages (language 1 minimum C1 level of one of the 24 official EU languages – language 2 any of the remaining 23 official languages minimum B2 level)
  • Combination of completed university-level studies and relevant professional experience, as follows:
    • A three-year degree in an area relevant to the chosen ICT field, followed by at least seven years of relevant professional experience;

or

  • A four-year degree in an area relevant to the chosen ICT field, followed by at least six years of relevant professional experience;

or

  • A five-year degree in an area relevant to the chosen ICT field, followed by at least five years of relevant professional experience;

or

  • A three-year degree in another area, followed by at least nine years of relevant professional experience (eight years for data science).

TEST COMPETITION

·        The selection process for the ICT competition (AD7) includes online reasoning tests, a field-related test, and a free-text essay on EU matters

A.Language 1: Reasoning tests (multiple – choice question tests )

              Verbal reasoning test: 20 questions, 35 minutes

              Numerical reasoning test: 10 questions, 20 minutes

              Abstract reasoning test: 10 questions,10 minutes

 

B. Language 2: Field-related test (multiple – choice question tests ): 30 questions, 40 minutes

C. Language 2: EUFTE Written test  Free-text Essay on EU matters (EUFTE), 40 minutes

Candidates will be required to respond to the test assignment(s) based on the documentation provided by EPSO and related to the field(s) of the competition.
